Hostel Manager
Location: Out East Adventure Centre
Rocky Harbour
Experience: 1+ years in hospitality industry
Season: June to September, depending on bookings
Description:
Beginning in 2019 Out East Adventures will begin operating a boutique hostel in Rocky Harbour. As a full service hostel, we will be offering activities and services to our guests to enhance their stay. Some of these activities will be planned events, such as bonfires, movie nights and planned trail walks.
Responsibilities include organizing activities on a weekly basis, providing customer service to guests, assisting with reservations, cleaning rooms and general housekeeping.
Qualifications:
Previous hospitality experience
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to entertain clients from all walks of life.
English fluency is mandatory, French fluency is a bonus.
Required Certification:
First Aid or above
Driver's license valid for Canada
Computer proficiency
POS proficiency
Compensation:
$15-17 per hour

Hiking Guide
Location: Gros Morne National Park
Experience: 2+ years guiding experience preferred
Season: Late June to Early September, depending on bookings
Description:
Out East Adventures provides full day and overnight tours of the Western Brook Pond Gulch inside of Gros Morne National Park. Tours involve driving from the Rocky Harbour area, walking into the boat dock, taking a high speed shuttle boat across the pond and then hiking up to the viewpoint and back down. Tours usually take 10 hours and are very strenuous. Guides need to be in great physical shape and capable up hiking up and down the mountain with all required safety gear, all the while ensuring group safety and providing an entertaining and educational experience to our clients. Non-smokers preferred.
Qualifications:
Previous back-country experience
Strong Navigation skills
Well versed in flora and fauna of the boreal forest ecosystem.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to entertain clients from all walks of life.
English fluency is mandatory, French fluency is a bonus.
Required Certification:
Wilderness First Aid or above
Driver's license valid for Canada
Compensation:
$150 - $250 per day
